Before I did most of my writing, and by writing I mean blog posts, emails, business correspondence, pen pal letters, etc. outside of my home. And by outside I mean coffee bars and libraries.

For the last couple of weeks, and for more to come, I've been doing just about everything but cooking from my bed.

When I was going to the library/coffee bar I needed to pack a tote bag with a notebook, assorted pens & Sharpies, writing paper and blank cards for pen pals, envelopes, stamps, postcards, something to read, phone charger, and my extra phone. And my reading glasses. I had to be wearing super comfortable clothes and shoes, and I always had a light jacket or sweater even in summer because of the air conditioning or drafts. If there is a draft it will find me. Just like Frisbees, .if anyone throws one within a three block radius of where I'm walking or sitting - it will hit me.

Now I keep a fully loaded tote bag right beside my bed, and a laptop right underneath it. The uniform every day is one of several pairs of comfy PJs. Since I am currently sans barista or soda machine; bottled water and Gatorade or Diet Coke are also close by. Pandora pipes in the Zen music that keeps me slightly less insane.

Am I writing more from my bed?

I am doing less free-writing and more pen pal writing. I started two new public blogs. This one is for me, the other is for writing challenges; I'm doing the Blogging from A to Z Challenge starting the first of April.

Has not having people around me - whether I'm talking to them or not - changed things?

Surprisingly it hasn't - so far.  Though once we can all sit in Starbucks again I am re-launching my mobile blog. Back in NYC I posted in real time from Starbucks, diners, park benches, just about everywhere. Bits of conversation, whatever madness was going on, photos etc. Loved it. Don't know why I stopped.

Are you stopping at two public blogs?

I'm thinking audio blog.

I'll be back.

Sending all kinds of good vibes to you all.

It was a great day.

A simple one - but great.

I dug out my old Windows 8 laptop because Windows 10 annoyed me so much I itched. It was fun re-connecting with that machine.

My son-in-law made a delicious breakfast that included cinnamon bagels. We all sat around the living room and laughed.

The son-in-law took me to the market where I scored three boxes of pasta, Swad Dried Split Chickpeas, and cornmeal. Items like this are so hard to get here at this time. This week's meals will include home-made spicy, garlicky dahl, fresh cornbread, and an alfredo sauce with hot sausage over rotini.

Just a month ago, I filled my shopping cart with any and everything without a thought.

When this is all over - and we will get to the other side of this - I am never taking food for granted again.

Everyone enjoyed my chicken dinner with hot cinnamon rolls for dessert.

I wrote a letter, scanned and sent it to my new pen pal in Albany. She's awesome. I love her latest letter.

I chatted online with my bestie AB. Thanks for always being there!

My daughter and I planned a shopping trip for tomorrow. We're only going out for short periods for necessities otherwise we stay home.

I sat in my room and a gratitude list appeared on my mind's screen.

After midnight I wished the young lady I consider a second daughter a Happy 36th Birthday.

She texted me the following:

Love you too, Second Mom! Recent events have made me feel extra grateful to have loved ones like yourself in my life. Hope to see ya soon!

Joyful tears.

End scene.

Peace & Love to all.

Here's some old favorites from the Pictures folder on my old but very good laptop.

Hi, and welcome to my God(dess) only knows what number first blog post in the last 20+ years.

Posterous was one of my favorite blogging platforms ever. And I've used a lot of 'em; Xanga, Angelfire, Blogger, Squarespace, Typepad, Wordpress.com, Live & Dead Journal, and several that don't exist anymore. When I found out that Posterous co-founder Garry Tan launched Posthaven I got out my card and signed right up.

I've been laying kinda low since moving to Idaho Falls November 15th 2019. Technically I'm half a block away in Ammon, right across the street from the Grand Teton Mall. There was a lot of ice on the ground this winter, so the kids insisted on driving me everywhere because of my wonky left knee. I was dreaming of the day I could walk to the Barnes & Noble cafe for a venti something or another and long writing sessions. There's a ginormous Regal theater, a college that allows me to use their library, and lots of stores & restaurants - all within walking distance. But then something I never imagined happening - did - and we all need to social distance/lock down for what might be a long while.

An old friend brought Sir Isaac Newton's Years of Wonders to my attention, and I decided to make this My Own Time of Wonders. Will I be changing history? Probably not. But I'll be writing, taking photos, walking our 11 year old Pom Shadow,  reading and reviewing books and movies, and posting all about it here.

I'll be back!

Wishing you all a Time of Wonders
